For children with motor impairments, the Upsee opens an unexplored world.
Some have been able to stand and hug their little brother or sister for the first time. Some have waved at neighbours on their first ever walk along their own street. And some crossed the playground hand-in-hand with their best friend for the very first time.
They are just little steps – but they mean the world to someone.

Upsee Sizing Advice
Please select your harness size carefully.
We want you to have a great experience with your Upsee and ensure you select the correct size for your child. We found during our trials that 90% of harnesses were suitable for the children based on their age.
Chest circumference was the next best dimension for accuracy and suitability. Children’s sizes vary just like adults and we base our dimensions on the average European child for the ages indicated. Please ensure you measure your child and check the dimensions against the Upsee sizing chart.
Where you child's dimensions do not fall neatly into one particular harness size, for example, if you child is tall and thin for their age or if they wear a body brace we recommend you choose the harness size relating to chest circumference. Please take note of the maximum user weights applicable for each size of harness. The Upsee has not been tested beyond this weight capacity.
If you are in any doubt about your child’s or your own ability to use the Upsee, please consult your therapist.

How long should I use the Upsee for in each session?
Question by: Tom on 20 Jan 2017 14:20:00
When you first use the Upsee, stand for about 2 – 5 minutes depending on your child’s weight bearing ability. Keep your initial sessions short. If your child is happy in the Upsee, he/she will be more likely to accept this new experience of standing and stepping.
You can increase the amount of time in the Upsee as your child starts to enjoy being in it and you become more comfortable. Remember to stop using the Upsee if you or your child experience any discomfort.
You can find further information on how to grade the activity and length of time your child spends in the Upsee using the MAP assessment in the Upsee Therapy Programme.

If the Upsee is not suitable, can we return it and get a full refund back? We really want to buy one but are worried it won't be suitable for Ava as she has no control over any part of her body. I would have to fully support her.
Question by: Lisa lumsden on 9 Dec 2016 15:19:00
Firefly are happy to refund any product returned within 42 days from receipt of your goods as long as it is returned in it's original state. Once you contact us we will arrange collection of the unsuitable goods at our expense and, once returned to us, we will refund you in full no later than 14 days from receipt.
In order to help you assess whether Ava is suitable for the Upsee, we ask that you answer the following Upsee Prescription & Assessment Questions -
Before you can order the Upsee you should ensure that your child meets the following criteria, otherwise we strongly recommend you do not proceed with your purchase until you seek advice from your child's therapist.
1: Your child should already be participating in a standing or walking programme.
2: Your child's shoulders should not be higher that the adult's navel/belly button.
3: The adult's body shape should not prevent the child from standing straight.

Does this product help with positioning the pelvis so that the child's weight is distributed properly? Our daughter is working on getting her pelvis under her so her lumbar spine is not over-extended. Would this help to position her pelvis while she's in the harness?
Question by: Rebecca on 13 Nov 2016 19:11:00
The Upsee harness is designed to fit slightly over your child's pelvis, this will provide some support to your child's pelvis. The straps can be tightened within the harness to help support the position of your child's pelvis.
Within the Upsee Therapy Programme you will find some activities provided to help work on equal weight distribution (for example: step standing).

Is the upsee available for children 7 years and older? My daughter weighs 27 kilos, any info would be wonderful, many thanks in advance.
Question by: Andy Prescott on 15 Jan 2017 11:17:00
The Upsee is typically suitable for children up to the age of approx. 8 years old. Our largest Upsee (Size L) caters for children with a max user weight of 25kg (55lbs). Please refer to our 'Sizing Guide' tab for accurate sizing.
To maintain balance and to avoid putting extra strain on the adults back there is a height/weight restriction for the Upsee. This also allows the adult to have full control over their movements. Unfortunately, the height and weight of a bigger child would make the Upsee unsafe to use.

For this product first is needed to study manuals and technique how to walk with child. Child is very happy to be in standing position. Very useful product.
My son was able to experience the children museum like everyone else! I didn't have to hold him at every station, he was able to stand and play at each station, all thanks to upsee! So happy with the purchase. His school and therapist are also using it during school!
We are already using the Upsee and are so excited about the possibilities
